July 1st, 2020

Dear Sunny Faces Parents,
On behalf of the management team and our Board of Directors, we would like to share the following COVID-19
update for our centre.

Please be assured that Sunny Faces’ management team and our Board of Directors remain committed to providing a
safe and healthy environment for our families and our staffing team. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work
through the new guidelines that must be implemented to support our staff and families as we safeguard the centre to
ensure a smooth reopen.

In light of the June 9th , 2020, announcement by Premier Doug Ford, who shared that child care centres could reopen,
Sunny Faces is not able to do so at this time. It is important to understand that all child care centre operations are at
the discretion of the Ontario Government, Public Health, the City of Toronto and the local School Boards. We
continue to receive information from each of the parties that outline their regulations, that we as operators must meet
prior to receiving authorization to reopen.

In addition, our recent Parent survey indicates that 80% of our families will not be returning until September. As
such, Sunny Faces will not be reopening until September. We understand that this may create concerns for some
families who are returning to work in August. Unfortunately, our enrollment numbers do not support a financially
feasible operation to open earlier. We are sharing this information now, to give parents as much notice as possible
to prepare.

Our number one priority is to ensure the safety of our staff and children. It is important to keep in mind that there
many challenges that child care centres face in reopening. School boards are currently changing their operating
systems, which in turn means child care centres located in schools will also have to make adjustments once we are
informed. Management is currently rewriting policies, developing new procedures, purchasing PPE for staff,
preparing new budgets and cleaning our facilities. In the weeks ahead we will be working with staff and our
community partners who will assist us with our reopening plans.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns during the centres closure dates, please feel free to email the
management team at sunny.faces@outlook.com to reach Lee-Ann Hand. To reach Helen Primi please email

Please be well and stay safe,

Sunny Faces Management Team
