August 30th, 2021
Dear Sunny Faces Parents,
We hope everyone is keeping well, staying safe and enjoying their summer!
As our summer programs wind down, and schools prepare to reopening in just 9 days, Sunny Faces Day Care would like to share a few dates to remember. In addition, we would like to remind our families of our continued COVID – 19 and variant safety procedures for attending the centre.
All licensed child care centres will resume serving JK/SK and school-aged children for before and after school programs, in accordance with the Ministry’s Health and Safety guidance, Operational Guidance for Child Care During COVID- 19 Outbreak, as well as compliance with TPH Guidance and Direction.
The following dates will help our families prepare for the start of school.
Full day summer programs will end on Friday September 3rd, 2021.
All programs are closed on Monday September 6th, 2021 – Labour Day
Tuesday September 7th and Wednesday September 8th are PA Days. Programs are available to our families that are registered for the 2021-2022 school year. Routine operations from 7 am – 6 pm for PA Days is in effect.
The first day of school and regular operations of Sunny Faces before and after school programs will be Thursday September 9th, 2021.
We would like to remind our families about the actions we will continue taking to reinforce the required Health and Safety protocols aimed at protecting our staff and families, while limiting the spread of COVID-19 and variants within our child care setting. By following public health advice, we can all have a safe return to school that keeps our centre open.
Sunny Faces Day Care will continue to:
· Reinforce masking and hand hygiene etiquette, as well as physical distancing
· Keep our cohort groups and/or limit interactions between groups of children and staff/providers
· Ensure that everyone is screened before they enter the child care premises
· Restrict entry to the centre, excluding staff and required health and licensing professionals
· Perform enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of the toys, equipment, and premises
As a reminder, individuals showing symptoms of illness should not attend the child care centre.
All children, students, staff, and accepted visitors must be screened for symptoms of illness every day before attending child care. To help meet this requirement, you will be required to continue with the onsite screening that Sunny Faces administers.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation,
