Dear Sunny Faces Parents,

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, is keeping well and staying safe!

As our programs get ready to return to regular hours after the Christmas Break, and schools prepare to reopening on January 5th, 2022, Sunny Faces Day Care would like to share with our families the following information;

  • Sunny Faces will be open for our regular Preschool program

  • Sunny Faces has reached out to the City of Toronto Children’s Services, to determine whether

or not we will be allowed to open on January 3rd and 4th, 2022 for our JK/SK and school age programs, or whether or not we will have to be closed in conjunction with the schools closure.  At this time, we have not received any direction from the government

  • Sunny Faces will not be processing January 1st fees on the first, but instead, January fees will processed on FRIDAY JANUARY 7th, 2022

Once we have received confirmation, our licensed child care centres will resume serving JK/SK and school-aged children for before and after school programs, in accordance with the Ministry’s Health and Safety guidance, Operational Guidance for Child Care During COVID- 19 Outbreak, as well as compliance with TPH Guidance and Direction.

We would like to remind our families of our continued COVID – 19 and variant safety procedures for attending the centre and the actions we will continue taking to reinforce the required Health and Safety protocols aimed at protecting our staff and families, while limiting the spread of COVID-19 and variants within our child care setting. By following public health advice, we can all have a safe return to child care operations that keep our centres open.

Sunny Faces Day Care will continue to:

  • Reinforce masking and hand hygiene etiquette, as well as physical distancing

  • Keep our cohort groups and/or limit interactions between groups of children and staff/providers

  • Ensure that everyone is screened before they enter the child care premises

  • Restrict entry to the centre, excluding staff and required health and licensing professionals

  • Perform enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of the toys, equipment, and premises

As a reminder, individuals showing symptoms of illness should not attend the child care centre.

All children, students, staff, and accepted visitors must be screened for symptoms of illness every day before attending child care. To help meet this requirement, you will be required to continue with the onsite screening that Sunny Faces administers.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation,
