Dear Sunny Faces Parents,

Late last evening Sunny Faces received notice that child care operators will be able to remain open on January 3rd, and 4th, to support our families and their child care needs.

“Child care programs will be permitted to operate. I recognize that the closure of schools from January 3-4, 2022 will have an impact on families who may be unable to care for their child at home. In light of this, the ministry is directing schools to continue to provide access to their on-site child care centres and to authorized recreational and skill building programs, as before and after school programs are permitted to operate full day programs on non-instructional days.”  Holly Moran, Ministry of Education Early Years and Child Care Division 315 Front Street West, 11th floor Toronto ON

Sunny Faces Day Care would like to share with our families the following information;

  • Sunny Faces will be open for our regular Preschool program

  • Sunny Faces will be open for our JK/SK and school age programs that will operate as a non-instructional holiday program

  • Sunny Faces program hours will be from 7 AM – 6PM on January 3rd, and 4th

  • Sunny Faces programs will resume regular hours 7AM – school opening and school closing – 6PM starting on January 5th, 2022

  • Sunny Faces will not be processing January 1st fees on the first, but instead, January fees will be processed on FRIDAY JANUARY 7th, 2022.

Please be reminded of our continued COVID – 19 and variant safety procedures for attending the centre and the actions we will continue taking to reinforce the required Health and Safety protocols aimed at protecting our staff and families, while limiting the spread of COVID-19 and variants within our child care setting. By following public health advice, we can all have a safe return to child care operations that keep our centres open.

Sunny Faces Day Care will continue to:

  • Reinforce masking and hand hygiene etiquette, as well as physical distancing

  • Keep our cohort groups and/or limit interactions between groups of children and staff/providers

  • Ensure that everyone is screened before they enter the child care premises

  • Restrict entry to the centre, excluding staff and required health and licensing professionals

  • Perform enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of the toys, equipment, and premises

As a reminder, individuals showing symptoms of illness should not attend the child care centre.

All children, students, staff, and accepted visitors will be screened for symptoms of illness every day before attending child care. To help meet this requirement, you will be required to continue with the onsite screening that Sunny Faces administers.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation,
