June 9, 2021
Dear Sunny Faces Parents,
Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility as we await our opportunity to reopen Sunny Faces Day Care.
As you are aware, The Government of Ontario recently announced that all publicly funded schools will continue with remote learning for the remainder of this school year.
During this time:
Child Care for non-school aged preschool children aged 0-4, will remain open
Before and after school programs, are not permitted to operate
Licensed child care centres may resume serving school-aged children for full-days in program over the summer months, in accordance with the Ministry’s Health and Safety guidance, Operational Guidance for Child Care During COVID- 19 Outbreak, as well as compliance with TPH Guidance and Direction.
The first day for operation of Sunny Faces summer programs will be Monday July 5th, 2021.
We would also like to remind our families about the actions we are taking to reinforce the required Health and Safety protocols aimed at protecting our staff and families, while limiting the spread of COVID-19 within our child care setting. By following public health advice, we can all have a safe return that keeps our centre open.
Sunny Faces Day Care will continue to:
· Reinforce masking and hand hygiene etiquette, as well as physical distancing
· Limit interactions between groups of children and staff/providers
· Ensure that everyone is screened before they enter the child care premises
· Perform enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of the toys, equipment, and premises
As a reminder, individuals showing symptoms of illness should not attend the child care centre.
All children, students, staff, and visitors must be screened for symptoms of illness every day before attending child care. To help meet this requirement, you will be required to continue with the onsite screening that Sunny Faces administers.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation,
